Minors Offered at Mason

Students may elect minor programs of study in addition to major fields. Minors usually require between 15 and 21 credits of study. At least 8 credits of which must be applied only to that minor and may not be used to fulfill requirements of the student's major, concentration, an undergraduate certificate, or another minor.

George Mason University has over eighty minors for students to choose from. Below is a list of Minors offered at Mason.


Certificates Offered at Mason

A non-degree program complementary to a degree requires at least 24 undergraduate or 15 graduate credits. Certificates are approved by the school or college at the undergraduate level and by the university graduate council at the graduate level. At least 15 credits used to fulfill it's requirements cannot be used to fulfill the requirements of a major, concentration, a minor, or another undergraduate certificate.


Other Options

Students may also choose other options including the Honors program, Integrative Studies through New Century College, Mason Topics, and PreHealth Professional programs.

UNIV 100

Freshman are encouraged to take the University 100 Freshman Seminar course. This course assists freshman with their transition to college life. It helps students adjust academically, develop decision-making skills, and learn how to get involved at Mason. Some sections of the course focus on particular aspects of college life. All sections are one credit elective courses and is counted as an elective. For more information see the UNIV 100 website.
